Beyoglu, it is separated from the old city (historic peninsula of
Constantinople) by the Golden Horn, is located on the European side of
Istanbul. In the time of Byzantines, Beyoglu, was called the Peran
Vineyards originating from Pera that means the side across beyond. The
name Pera has started to be forgotten after being removed from official
connection in 1925,nowadays, especially the foreign visitors are using
the name Pera rather than Beyoglu.
